Supporting Families in Grief: Tools For Birth Workers

VIRTUAL TRAINING
Will be offered again Spring 2021

Working with families around birth, means you will likely be faced with supporting a family in grief at some point.  Engaging with families around birth is a sacred privilege; entering this space during grieving is a huge responsibility.

This workshop will cover the ways grief impacts families, what type of behaviors grieving people may demonstrate, and how you can best support them, as well as yourself, as a birth professional.

We will explore the different types of pregnancy and infant loss, as well as other birth related trauma, and how that impacts pregnancy, birth and parenting..

We will understand grief vs mourning and learn how to use companioning theory to enter the spaces of grieving families.

Togther we will create concrete examples of what support looks like within our scope of practice. We will learn skills for caring for ourselves as we are surrounded by the grief of others.

I do hope you will join us!

Amy lead a very informative seminar that allowed me to really think about how I could support families in times of grief. The information was presented in a very organized way, she asked lots of questions that made it feel very interactive and Amy was obviously quite knowledgeable on the subject. I would highly recommend this seminar to others.
