Amy was invaluable to our birth experience. I said from the very beginning that if all went smoothly we could probably handle it on our own. Well, all did not go smoothly. She was there the moment we needed her and provided a pleasant, calm, reassuring, and informative (as well as witty) presence to an otherwise chaotic and challenging experience. She added to the intimacy and specialness of our daughter’s birth for us as a couple and as new parents by removing much of the stress and anxiety and allowing us to really be present together. She helped us to navigate our choices as things changed throughout the process, and reminded us of our original plan as needed. We were so lucky to welcome our beautiful little girl into the world with Amy. I won’t say we couldn’t have done it without her, but we most certainly wouldn’t have wanted to!
